About Ana

Ana Gutierrez is a Legal Publications Specialist at Azarvand Tax Law, where she authors articles on tax law for trade and general publications. She brings a background in commercial agreements, business formation, and commercial litigation to the firm's writing and client education work.

Before joining Azarvand Tax Law, Ana built experience across private practice, the judiciary, and international policy. She was a Law Clerk at an entertainment law firm and a Judicial Intern at the New York Supreme Court and the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. As a Policy Fellow, she researched accountability mechanisms at international financial institutions, including the International Finance Corporation and multilateral development banks, and co-published the policy article 'Beyond Remedies. How Accountability Mechanisms Can Protect Communities from Irreversible Harm.' Together, these roles gave her a close view of how legal and institutional rules shape outcomes for the people they affect, a perspective she now brings to making complex tax topics clear and accessible.

A native Spanish speaker, Ana works in both Spanish and English. She shares the firm's conviction that language should never be a barrier to tax representation, and she is committed to being a true partner, not just a legal advocate, for the individuals and businesses the firm serves.

Ana earned her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School in May 2026. While there, she took part in the Access to Justice Clinic's Nonprofit and Entrepreneurship Division and the GW in New York Business and Finance Program, and was a Corporations and Evidence Law Tutor. She was named a 2024 Eversheds Sutherland LLP Public Interest Fellow and received the Dean's Recognition for Professional Development. She also studied European and International Economic Law at the University of Augsburg in Germany.

Outside of the office, Ana enjoys cooking regional French cuisine, scriptwriting, short film production, and backcountry hiking.
